Dense phase Pneumatic Conveying system are used in food companies, cement plant, chemical plant, textile, Pharmaceutical and etc, where conveying gas velocities are typically in the range 6-18 m/s and conveying pressures are above 1 barg. At higher conveying velocities, the material particles can still be substantially in suspension, however, at the lower velocities, the material will be predominantly in contact with the conveying pipe and will move in waves or plugs. This type of conveying is more commonly used to convey materials over longer distances and at higher throughputs, where the limitations of air movement devices such as Fans and Roots Blowers become prohibitive. This method is also commonly used to convey fragile or abrasive materials at low velocities in order to minimise either material damage or system damage. Typical air movement devices for this type of conveying would be a compressor of liquid ring pump. Some advantages are follow as:
1. Due to the compact nature of the conveying pipe transfer line, a pneumatic conveying system can be routed around existing equipment, giving more flexibility than a mechanical conveying system.2. Can run vertically or horizontally over a long distance.3. As the system is enclosed, there is protection against dust emissions to the atmosphere and also protection of the conveyed material from external contaminants.4. Pneumatic conveying systems can be easier and more cost effective to maintain than a mechanical conveying system – fewer moving parts.5. The design of the ash handling plant is dependent upon the method of ash disposal. It may be pumped into a disused quarry or transported from the power station for processing into building materials. A typical system, outlined below, includes both facilities.

Ash from the boiler is collected in a hopper directly below the furnace, whenever it is removed by high pressure water jets and discharged, via sluiceways, into ash crushers. The crushed ash falls into ash tanks, and is then projected by water-jet pumps supplied by HP sluice pumps through discharge pipelines to ash pits, where it is allowed to settle. After settlement and drainage, the ash is removed by grabbing crane for disposal by road vehicles or by conveyor to a disposal pit.

The motive water is pumped from the ash pits to settling lagoons. After settlement, it is recirculated by return water pumps, via the ash water reservoir, to the HP sluice pumps.

The system for a large modern power station is illustrated.

Idler rollers can be manufactured to suit almost any conveyor application. Some variables include bearing brand, bearing size, diameter or series, wall thickness, seal type and material type. Different variables can be selected and customised to suit your application’s standards and specifications.
Different idler rollers are used for various processes, and some determining factors could be material type, specific gravity of the material and lump size.
Plain Idler Rollers: Plain rollers are the most common type of idler roller. They are used to support and shape the conveyor belt. Plain rollers can be fitted to the load side of the belt in trough, tracking and transition frames. Additionally, they can be fitted to the return side of the belt.
Tapered Idler Rollers: Tapered idler roller can be installed on both the load or return side of the belt. They assist with conveyor belt tracking when they are installed in a tracking frame.
Rubber-Coated Idler Rollers: The name for the rubber-coated idler roller is derived from the rubber that is vulcanised directly to the roller. Rubber-coated idler rollers are tear, impact and friction-resistant and therefore have a higher durability than non-coated idler rollers.
Rubber Disc Idler Rollers: A rubber disk idler roller has durable rubber discs positioned at regular intervals along the roller. On the two ends of the roller, the rubber discs are bundled together to provide more support for the conveyor belt edge. The spaced-out positioning of the rubber disks is to separate any carryback (leftover materials adhered to the belt after a scraper has performed its cleaning function). This helps to reduce material build-up on the outside of the roller, a common cause of belt mistracking.
Rubber Screw Idler Rollers: Rubber screw idler rollers incorporate an anti-tear rubber coating in a continuous screw pattern along the roller. The screw pattern assists with the removal of material build-up on the belt and helps maintain belt-tracking.
Steel Screw Idler Rollers: Similar to the rubber screw idler rollers, the steel screw idler rollers have the same continuous screw-patterned coating along the roller. However, its component is steel instead of rubber. The screw pattern assists with the removal of material build-up on the belt and helps maintain belt-tracking.
Steel screws have a greater scrubbing action than rubber screws, and thus steel screw idler rollers are more effective where carryback is heavy.
An example of where a steel screw idler may be effective is an application where scrapers cannot be used to clean the belt, such as a mobile plant conveyor. At a mobile plant conveyor, fitting a scraper is not possible due to insufficient room. Another example is in a folding conveyor, which may prohibit the fitting of such devices.

Dome Valve is a pressure tight compressed air operated valve, capable of returning over one million maintenance-free cycles, even in abrasive, hazardous or toxic applications.
It is unique in its ability to open and close with a tight pressure seal in environment where abrasive materials are passing.
The Dome component closes beneath the seal when the seal is relaxed (not inflated), allowing a controlled gap between the seat (seal) and the closing member (Dome).
Material is allowed to pass through or enter the controlled gap if, due to its characteristics, it is pulled into the gap by the action of the Dome component moving to its closed position.
In the closed position, high pressure air or other gas enters the space between the back of the seal face and the insert ring to cause the seal face to expand onto and around the periphery of the Dome component.
Material particles are entrapped by the seal against the dome surface, irrespective of particle size or shape.
Before opening the valve, the seat is relaxed, and the controlled gap is reestablished before the Dome component moves to its open position.
The seal is a loose component clamped into place by a spigot piece and external fasteners holding the top plate assembly to the body. The seal is easily removed for inspection
